Artist Call Out

Daring to Care - Carers Foundation Fundraising
Exhibition and Art Auction - August 2024

Submissions Extended:
Exhibition work - 12th July
Art Auction work 10th August

We invite local artists in the Moreton Bay, Brisbane and surrounding regions to submit works for the month long art exhibition Meliorism - Daring to Care, a fundraising Art Event hosted by the Churn Room for The Carers Foundation of Australia - Unsung Heroes campaign.

Unpaid carers are unsung heroes in our communities, often placing the needs of others before
their own and sometimes at the expense of their health and wellbeing.  The Carers Foundation Australia provides carers with wellbeing programs at no cost to them, being the only charity in Australia that delivers these vital programs. The Carers Foundation as a not-for-profit organisation is without government funding.  Their programs come with significant costs.  To continue the vital work, the Carers Foundation have set a three year goal to raise money for building a dedicated purpose built centre that will let them continue to provide their service free of the outside costs.

Our Dayboro local, Joan Wilson Jones is participating in the 2024 Unsung Hero's Campaign, and we are honoured to be hosting this special fundraising art event with her.

*Meliorism Daring to Care  will be a month long exhibition of art works.  Our preference is for works submitted to

narrate or illustrate an instance of courageous compassion, bold empathy or audacious kindness.

*The exhibition will run from the  1 August '24 -  31 August '24 - with an official opening on 3rd August

~ All works on display will  be available to the public for purchase - Commission rate is 25%

~ Donations of art work are sought for the art auction and Soiree evening on  31st August.

*Extensive promotion of the event will occur from July through to the end of the exhibition and provides each artist with exposure opportunities.

~ Selected artists will be listed on our website, invited to the opening, and be included/linked in promotions during the course of the exhibition.
