I have always been happiest when creating with my hands, and I fell in love with woodworking in high school. I adore the animal kingdom and the natural world, so combining two passions was inevitable.
I enjoy whimiscal approach to life and try to show this in all my work. I'm a local Mum, attempting to combine parenthood, eco conscious choices and my own creativity in a way that brings a little more light to the world.
What makes my products special
All NOM toys are made from sustainably sourced timbers, mostly hard maple wood for strength and longevity for play.
We begin with slabs of timber and use a band saw to cut the animal profiles. We shape, carve and detail the wood with various sanding tools, and finish each piece with watercolour paints and a hardwax oil sealant. All our toys are designed to withstand play, but are equally fantastic gifts for animal lovers.
