We seek artisans and makers who want to be part of a wider community of makers.
We focus on:

Each of our In-Store Artisans brings something unique; and together, the store creates a diverse and engaging experience for visitors.
What Being Part of The Churn Room Artisan Store Offers
Being part of the Artisan Store means more than simply having your work on a shelf.
Your work is represented every day the shop is open - not just the days you are physically in the space.
Artisans who want to engage directly with their customers are welcome to participate in the store, and in exchange gain a lower sales commission rate. Artisans who have limited time or capacity can simply have their products stocked in store - the level of participation is entirely up to you.

What makes us different to many other retail spaces is the opportunity to be involved beyond having your products stocked in the store. Our customers love to meet the makers, and love the stories behind how the products are made - the difference for artisans is the opportunity to be present only one or two days a month, not every single day as you would at a handmade market.
On the days you are in-store, you represent every participating artisan. On the days you're not, the other participating artisans are representing you.
The Churn Room offers a shared experience where everyone benefits from the presence and contribution of others. Being a maker is a solo endeavour, The Churn Room is a space where you can become part of an engaged, supportive and positive maker community.

You don't have to be a full time professional maker to be part of The Churn Room... we're looking for Artisans who want to grow, and whose making is a source of pride.
Whether you're just starting out, or you've been doing this for years; The Churn Room offers a space where your work can be represented, where you can connect with others, and where you can grow alongside a community of makers who are supportive and encouraging of each other.
The nitty gritty!
Our base sales commission rate is 45%, on consignment.
Sales earnings (less commission) are paid to artisans within the first week of each month.
We offer lower commission rates to Participating and Core Artisans in exchange for spending days in-store engaging with visitors and assisting with the smooth running of the store day-to-day.
Space contribution is only $20 per month, and can be upgraded to a dedicated display space within the store.
