Exhibit with Us

Showcase your artwork in a creative, community-focused gallery just outside Brisbane — apply for solo or group exhibitions at The Churn Room in Dayboro.

At The Churn Room, we love giving artists and artisans the opportunity to share their stories, explore new ideas, and connect directly with visitors in a warm and community-minded environment.

Whether you’re preparing for your first exhibition or adding a new chapter to your creative journey, we provide the space, support, and audience to help your work shine.

Why Exhibit with The Churn Room

Our visitors come from across Brisbane, the Sunshine and Gold Coasts, Northern NSW, and regional Queensland — all drawn by their love of handmade, authentic, and original art.

They come to experience something new, meet the makers behind the work, and discover art that inspires and surprises them.

At The Churn Room, we prioritise exhibitions that offer something fresh — new bodies of work, unseen collections, and creative ideas not yet widely shown in our region.

Our Gallery Spaces

The Little Room

A smaller, intimate space of around 12 m² — perfect for compact collections, experimental work, or artists who prefer a focused, storytelling approach.

This space was originally one of the butter factory cold rooms. Its scuffed, off white walls are complemented by original niches.

The Mezzanine Gallery

A spacious, light-filled area of approximately 75 m², ideal for solo exhibitions or collaborative shows.

The space features flexible hanging systems, ambient lighting, and the rustic charm of our historic building; providing a unique alternative to traditional white-wall galleries.

Exhibition Opportunities

We offer two main ways to exhibit with us — Solo Exhibitions and Group Exhibitions — each designed to suit different stages of your artistic journey.

Solo Exhibitions

At The Churn Room, we love giving artists the space to share their stories, ideas, and creative energy in a way that feels personal and authentic.

Our Solo Exhibitions offer the opportunity to present a focused body of work in an inviting, community-centred gallery setting.

We provide a supportive environment that helps artists share their vision, explore new ideas, and connect with visitors who genuinely value art, handmade craft, and meaningful creative expression.

Whether you’re an established artist or preparing for your first exhibition, we welcome applications that bring something distinctive — through technique, material, concept, or perspective — and continue to surprise and inspire our audience.

Group Exhibitions

Our Group Exhibitions bring together artists and artisans around a shared theme — offering a vibrant, varied display of perspectives, techniques, and materials.

Artists can participate in two ways:

  • Standard Entry – Submit up to two artworks (1 for $45 / 2 for $70).

  • Feature Artist – Submit 6–10 artworks (depending on size) for $300, and receive:

    • Additional social media coverage

    • An A4 artist statement displayed alongside your collection

    • Your works presented together as a cohesive mini-exhibition within the group show

Group exhibitions are an ideal way to showcase your work among peers, connect with new audiences, and be part of a creative event that draws visitors from across the region.

We have various themes throughout the year — explore what’s coming up on our Artist Callouts

Apply for a Solo Exhibition

We’re delighted you’re interested in exhibiting at The Churn Room! We believe we offer artists a unique exhibition experience, no matter if this is your first ever exhibition, or you've exhibited before.

A Preference for the New and Unseen

We’ve built a reputation for high-quality, original work — and for always giving our visitors something fresh to discover.

In planning our exhibition program, we prioritise Expressions of Interest that feature relatively new work that hasn’t been widely exhibited, especially within our local area.

Professional Assistance with Your Exhibition

Our exhibition fees include:

  • Design and printing of a promotional flyer

  • Promotion across our website, contact database, and social media

  • Artwork labels and signage

  • Curatorial assistance with layout and presentation

  • Opening event, including catering and promotion

Once your Expression of Interest is accepted, we’ll meet with you (in person or via Zoom) to understand your work, discuss your goals, and offer guidance to help you achieve your vision.

This support is especially valuable for artists new to exhibiting — and we love sharing our knowledge as both artists and arts professionals.

Engaging with the Community

Connection is at the heart of what we do.

We’ve found that artists who engage directly with visitors — sharing their inspiration, stories, and process — create the most memorable exhibitions.

In addition to your opening event, you might like to:

  • Spend time in your exhibition chatting with visitors

  • Host an artist talk or informal discussion

  • Offer a demonstration or create work in the space

  • Run a workshop (public liability insurance required)

We’re happy to help you plan and promote these activities so that both you and the community get the most from your exhibition experience.

How to Start the Process

Below you will find links to access our Information for Exhibiting Artists PDF - which contains details of fees and inclusions; our gallery floor plans; and the upcoming exhibition calendar.

Once you've looked over that information, the next steps are:

  1. Submit your Expression of Interest – Complete the online form below and tell us about your work and exhibition idea.

  2. We review your application – We’ll take the time to review your proposal and links. If we love your work but have a date or space conflict, we’ll do our best to suggest an alternative. (Please allow some time — we prioritise earlier bookings.)

  3. Receive your exhibition offer – If successful, we’ll send you an Exhibiting Artisan Agreement, Terms & Conditions, and a deposit invoice. Your exhibition is confirmed once we receive both your signed agreement and deposit.

  4. Meet and plan – Once confirmed, we’ll arrange a meeting to discuss your exhibition vision and start preparing together.

We can’t wait to hear your ideas and see what you’ve been creating.

Each exhibition adds something new to The Churn Room’s story — inspiring our visitors, connecting our community, and celebrating creativity in all its forms.
