Sierra Leaf

I’m Mary, the hands behind Sierra Leaf.
I’ve always been a lover of tea, and it’s usually the first thing I offer someone when they come into my home. What started as a way for me to share my favourite tea blends has grown into an opportunity to bring people together through tea and create conversations across different cultures, generations and backgrounds.
I believe some of the best conversations happen when people slow down and share a meal or a cup of tea together. For me, tea is more than something you drink. It creates a reason to pause, connect and enjoy the people around you.
I also run tea events called The Gathering Table, which brings the same philosophy to life by creating welcoming spaces where people can meet, share tea and enjoy meaningful conversations and experiences together.
What makes my products special
Sierra Leaf creates herbal tea blends inspired by Australian botanicals and African tea traditions. We source tea and botanical ingredients from Australia and Kenya, incorporating as many Australian native herbs and fruits as possible to showcase the incredible botanicals Australia has to offer.
Depending on the blend, you’ll find ingredients such as lemon myrtle, Davidson plum, river mint, budgerum ginger and peppermint gum. Each blend is carefully created and mixed by hand in a clean kitchen space in St Lucia before being sent to our Brisbane suppliers to be packed into tea bags. We then package and label each product ourselves, ready for our customers to enjoy.
Sustainability is also an important part of Sierra Leaf. We use plant-based, biodegradable Soilon pyramid tea bags and aim to make thoughtful choices about the ingredients and materials we use as the business grows.
The one thing I would love most for people to know about my product is: Sierra Leaf is about more than tea.
Each blend is an invitation to slow down, enjoy the moment and connect with others, whether that’s over a quiet cup at home or around a table with good company.
