Terms & Conditions
Thank you for your interest in submitting your artworks for consideration in our art exhibition.
Please review the following terms and conditions which apply to our group exhibition artists/artworks.

ELIGIBILITY
-
The exhibition is open to artists 18 years and over, or 12 years and over with a parent's permission.

Artists under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian accompany them to drop off their artwork and to the opening if they choose to attend.

Artworks must have been created by the person entering the exhibition.
-
Artworks created as a direct result of AI generation, or not through the artist’s own creative process (for example artwork created from a template or pattern, or under the direct guidance of a tutor in a workshop or lesson) are ineligible for exhibition.

ENTRY TYPES

The Churn Room offers two types of entries to our Group Exhibitions:

Standard Entry​
-
Feature Artist (unless otherwise noted in the Exhibition Information)

Standard Entry allows up to 2 artworks per artist (applications submitted separately)

Feature Artist allows between 6-10 artworks per artist, which will be displayed together as a collection within the exhibition along with an A4 printed artist statement; and offers the artist additional social media promotion

Feature Artist is offered by invitation based on the submission received in the online application form for the Group Exhibition. This invitation is not guaranteed, and will be offered based on other submissions and overall number of entries to the exhibition.

Artists known to The Churn Room may also be offered an invitation as a feature artist to specific group exhibitions.
SELECTION AND DISPLAY OF ARTWORKS

Artwork submissions must use the online form available at The Churn Room website, and include all relevant details as requested.

The artwork image uploaded with your submission is what the artwork will be selected by, and is also the image that will be displayed in the online catalogue. Please ensure the image is high quality, in focus, shows the entire piece, and showcases your artwork to the best standard.

Artworks will be selected by The Churn Room based upon suitability of the work and connection to the theme if a theme is applied.

The Churn Room’s selection decision is final.

Artists will be notified of selection by email – please see exhibition details for date.

Upon selection confirmation, payment for entry/ies will be required. Acceptance emails contain a link for payment of entry fee/s.

The exhibiting space is in the Mezzanine Gallery, upstairs in the Churn Room. The space is suitable for both 2- and 3-dimensional works.

Artwork will be hung/displayed on existing fittings/furniture.

The exhibition will be curated by The Churn Room. If artists have specific display requirements for their artwork, The Churn Room will take that into consideration when hanging the exhibition, however The Churn Room cannot guarantee that all requirements can or will be met. Please include any display requirements (including props photographs of how your artwork should be displayed).
MEDIUM
-
2D and 3D artworks in variety of media are welcome.

Artists need to be able to transport their artworks up stairs to the Mezzanine Gallery without assistance. Please consider the weight of your artworks when submitting your entry.
CRITERIA AND SIZING

Artworks must be the original of submitting artist

Artworks must be available for sale
-
Artworks must complete, dry and be presented in a condition appropriate for sale

Artwork sizing must be noted in the submission application
-
Artwork must be appropriately connected to the theme, if a theme is listed in the exhibition details.
KEY DATES
-
Please ensure you read exhibition details for submission deadlines and other key dates pertaining to the exhibition
COSTS, ARTWORK SALES AND PAYMENTS
-
Entry fee/s are listed in the exhibition description, and are payable upon successful selection of the artwork submitted.

If your artwork is accepted and you choose to withdraw your application or choose not to exhibit your artwork for any reason, you are still be required to pay the entry fee/s.

If an exhibition is cancelled by The Churn Room you will be refunded any entry fee/s you have paid.

Artwork will also be displayed on an online catalogue for the duration of, and for 30 days following, the exhibition.
-
30% commission on all artwork sales for the duration of the exhibition, and for the following month while the online catalogue remains active, regardless of the method or means of sale of the exhibited artwork.

All sales will be processed by The Churn Room, and the remainder of any sale amount/s will be dispersed by electronic bank transfer to the artist after the exhibition closes.

ARTWORK PRESENTATION/CONDITION
-
Artworks must be in saleable condition and ready for display.
-
Hanging artwork must be securely framed, with D Rings screwed into the back and with hanging wire attached
-
If artworks require a special stand or device to hold them, that will need to be provided by the artist.

Any damaged or incomplete artworks will not be considered for the exhibition.
ARTWORK DELIVERY & COLLECTION
-
Please make a note of the dates listed in the exhibition description.
-
Delivery and pickup of artwork is the responsibility of the artist.

Drop off of artwork must be arranged by the artist on dates and times allocated - please refer to exhibition information
-
Pick up any unsold works must be arranged by the artist for the date and time allocated - please refer to exhibition information.

Artwork that remains in the custody of The Churn Room beyond 14 days from end of the exhibition will be disposed of, at the discretion of The Churn Room.
COPYRIGHT AND PHOTOGRAPHY PERMISSIONS
-
Artwork must be original and not infringe upon any copyrights or intellectual property rights of others.

The artist gives permission for The Churn Room to photograph/use images of the artwork for promotion purposes on our website, social media, and emails to our database.
-
All credit will be given to the artist.
EXHIBITION PUBLICITY AND PROMOTION
-
The exhibition artwork and artists will be promoted by The Churn Room on our website, through social media, in store promotions, emails to our database, and via other media where available.
-
We encourage participating artists to promote the exhibition to their own networks and social channels, collaborate with @TheChurnRoom on instagram for exposure to our followers.

EXHIBITION "HERO" ARTWORKS
-
From time to time, entered artworks may be chosen as the "Hero" artwork for the exhibition.
-
"Hero" artworks are used on promotional materials for the exhibition; including but not limited to the flyer, poster, website, social media posts and emails to our database.
-
If The Churn Room would like to use an entered artwork as the "Hero" artwork, we will contact the artist for specific permission.

Full credit to the artist will appear on all promotional material
-
In return, the entry fee for that artwork will be waived, and the artwork will be positioned at the entry to the exhibition.
LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION

Artists are responsible for their artworks during transportation to/from the exhibition and for the duration of the exhibition.

It is the Artists' responsibility to take out their own insurance for damage, theft, loss and liability on artwork displayed in the exhibition, and by delivering artwork to The Churn Room the artist fully accepts the risks if their artwork is not appropriately insured.

While The Churn Room exercises due care and diligence while artworks are in our care, artists agree that the The Churn Room will not be held liable or responsible for any legal claim, theft, loss, or damage - accidental or otherwise - to their artwork.
DISQUALIFICATION
Art work that is identified as plagiarism, violating the rules, or inappropriate content will be disqualified.
MODIFICATION OR CANCELLATION
The Churn Room reserves the right to modify the call-out terms or cancel the call-out at any time.
