Dayboro
If you're looking for a Christmas outing that feels a little bit magical - slower, warmer and more intimate than the crowded suburbs - Dayboro Up Late (Xmas Edition) is the perfect evening for you!
Instead of rushing around a chaotic shopping centre or battling for a table in the city, visitors can wander Dayboro's welcoming main street as local businesses open later for one night only. Picture twinkling fairy lights, delicious food and drinks, unique gift shopping, and that unmistakable country-town friendliness you simply can't manufacture.
This isn't a market, a street festival, or a ticketed event - it's simply Dayboro doing what it does best: keeping things relaxed, community-focused, and full of Christmas cheer.
What to Expect
Stroll past beautifully lit shopfronts, explore boutique and handmade wares, enjoy something sweet, savoury, or a drink, and soak in the soft twilight atmosphere.
Participating businesses will offer extended trading hours, festive displays, special offers, and plenty of Christmas spirit. From artisan creations and antiques to sweet treats and handcrafted goods, there's something for every last-minute shopper.
Two community groups will also be joining us with seasonal goodies:
-
Dayboro Lions - selling their much-loved Christmas cakes
-
Dayboro Historical Society - offering homemade biscuits, jams and more
It's the perfect excuse to support local volunteer groups while ticking off presents, stocking fillers and edible gifts.
If you're planning to stay for dinner, drinks or dessert, several cafés and restaurants along Williams and Mackenzie Streets will be open - ideal for a relaxed end-of-year catch-up with friends, family or colleagues.

Participating Local Businesses
Many of our local shops, cafés and the pub will be open, welcoming you to explore the main street at your own pace.
Make sure you plan to stop into:
The Churn Room
The Churn Room is truly a creative destination - part artisan store, part gallery, and part workshop space. It's a place to wander slowly, meet makers and take home something meaningful and beautifully made.
Art Escape
Whether it's a paint-and-play session, a clay-and-cocktails evening, or a date night designed to spark creativity and laughter, Art Escape helps you discover your inner artist (even if they’ve been hiding). During Dayboro Up Late, they'll be running drop-in ceramic painting in their uplifting creative space.
Bohemian Décor
A much-loved antique store filled with rare books, artwork, ephemera, and vintage pieces. Also home to the Dayboro Leatherwork Collective - makers of traditional, handcrafted leather goods. Dayboro Info Cottage
The Dayboro Historical Society will have its stall on the verandah, and inside you'll find the best place to find information about accommodation, activities, sightseeing and walking trails across the region.
Treasure Tribe
A much-loved destination for unique gifts, homewares and treasures, including artwork in The Artist Cove gallery space. There's always something unexpected to discover.
Sugar Rush

Why This Evening is Worth the Trip
Dayboro Up Late is the perfect opportunity to unwind, gather the people you love, and let the busy lead-up to Christmas slow down, even just for a few hours.
There's something special about browsing locally made gifts, speaking with small business owners, watching fairy lights glow against heritage shopfronts and gum trees, and experiencing a festive night that feels… well, exactly how Christmas should.
Whether you’re a local or visiting from Brisbane, Samford, the northern suburbs or beyond, this is a night to explore, indulge and connect.
