Details
This 5-hour copper jewellery making workshop is suitable for beginners.
Inspire –the latin origin ‘breathe into’; we get to choose what energy we breathe into our lives. Words can have such a huge effect on our daily thoughts and how we tend to cope with the ups and downs or the slow and crazy times.
In this 5hr workshop you’ll choose your word and then design and create with texture, stamping to the top and also to the ring band and even adding a little cold-connected spinning embellishment.
You’ll also learn how to solder and attach the ring band onto the back once textured and shaped into your own sizing. You’ll get the chance to play with the very ‘Torch’ Sonya makes her copper jewellery at home with.
The open style ring design allows you to be able to have flexibility on the sizing. One end of the ring band being soldered to the back of the front ‘Shield’ design of your ring and then wrapping around, with the end close to the top.
All materials; including Kumihimo cord, Japanese glass seed beads and Sterling Silver for cold connections, along with tools to create with will be provided in the workshop fee along with the fun and instructive advice from Sonya Flower herself.
Rings at the end of the class will be left in its ‘raw’ state, so can patina.
NOTE: the adding of thread and bead embellishments can be a rewarding but a focused process.
