Workshop Terms & Conditions

Workshop Participants
Unless otherwise stated, workshops at The Churn Room are not suitable for children. Persons aged 15-18 years must be accompanied by an adult parent/guardian who is also a paid workshop participant.
Workshop participants must wear closed in shoes, and have long hair tied back.
Participants should arrive approx 15 minutes prior to the starting time for the workshop.
Our Workshop Area is located on the Mezzanine, up stairs inside The Churn Room.
Note: the Workshop Area may not be suitable for persons with mobility issues, and is not accessible by wheelchair or mobility aid.

To maintain a safe and inclusive workshop environment where all participants can fully engage in the techniques and projects being taught, we kindly ask that attendees are able to participate independently without requiring additional assistance from the Teaching Artisan.
If you have any questions about the workshop's suitability or need clarification, please feel free to contact us at admin@thechurnroom.com.au before booking your tickets.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend the workshop once you have purchased a ticket, please contact admin@thechurnroom.com.au at the earliest possible opportunity.
The workshop ticket is non-refundable if you are unable to attend once your ticket has been booked. However participants may transfer their booking (and any materials they've selected for the workshop if applicable) to another person without penalty.
Cancellation due to unexpected illness or emergency:
The Teaching Artisan may choose to refund the workshop ticket, or offer re-booking into a later workshop, at their discretion.
No Contact, No Show:
If a participant does not attend the workshop, and does not contact us prior, no refund will be given for any reason, and the ticket will not be transferred to another workshop date.
If The Churn Room or the Teaching Artisan cancels the workshop:
Paid participants will receive either
-
a full refund (including booking fee), or
-
the option to re-book into an alternate date if one is available for the same workshop at time of cancellation
at the Participant's discretion.

The Teaching Artisan will advise which tools/materials provided are yours to take home (if any).
-
Please ensure that all other tools and materials are returned to the Teaching Artisan at the end of the workshop.

Timing of Workshop Area Bookings
Unless otherwise negotiated with The Churn Room, all workshops bookings are between 9am and 2pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
Only one workshop may be booked per day.
Available dates are on a reservation basis, first-come-first-served. Preference will be given to Exhibiting Artists in the Mezzanine Gallery for dates during their Exhibition, that are available at the time of booking their exhibition.
The booking starts at 9am and concludes at 2pm. Teaching Artisans need to factor in set-up/pack-up into these times. In some cases, set up the day prior, during store hours, may be possible. Please contact The Churn Room to arrange this in advance of your workshop.
If a workshop runs past 2pm (including pack-up), The Churn Room reserves the right to charge Teaching Artisans an extra $30 per additional hour required (or part thereof) in addition to the Workshop Area Hire Fee.
Public Liability Insurance
In addition to the Public Liability Insurance held by The Churn Room, Teaching Artisans need to have their own Public Liability Insurance, covering them for teaching workshops.
You will need to provide a copy of your Certificate of Currency when returning your signed Teaching Artisan Agreement.
Teaching Artisans may also consider having have their own general insurance policy to cover their tools and materials.
